My new (last year) 2023 300 super had a weird seat latch problem.
Sometimes it would work perfectly, then other times it would not close.
Tried all the usual methods, including lubrication, filing down the bumpers, and putting washers under the bracket, etc.
To make it work I frequently had to test lock it using a L-shaped hex key to push down on the latch mechanism, which frequently meant using a screwdriver to pry the latch back to a central position.
It would then work a few more times.

Yesteray I disconnected the crash bar at the seat connection, (and the grab bar), removed the seal around the gas cap and lifted the black plastic surround to see what is going on.
I discovered that one of the two bolts that attach the latch to the scoot, was missing, allowing the latch to pivot and get misaligned.
Not having access to the special bolt that screws into the threaded back of the latch, I improvised. I found a bolt and nut that would slip easily through the hole and fastend that in there.
The proper original bolt should hold it firmly in place and the MacGyvered one should top the swivelling. (I hope)
Finding the exact bolt with a large shoulder and the proper thread will be an almost impossible task, but I'll keep looking.
I can't see how this could have fallen out, so I'm assuming it wasn't assembled properly in the first place.

Thanks,

I have part of a big order already in my cart with Scooterwest, just added that bolt.
This part
Stepped Shouldered Screw (M6 X 22) (CM179201)

There are no dealers close to me. (130 km away minimum)

My jury-rigged solution is working OK for now, when I get the proper bolt I will fix it properly.

I'm thinking it's time to clean your bench.
