does writing "2005-2025" suggested it's died? maybe "est. 2005"

This. The design is lovely, but my first thought upon seeing the updated logo was that the forum is done, dead in 2025.
I get your point, but stating a span of years is not exclusive to gravestones. Especially since there are no specific dates stated, just the year. See the attached image for an example of this that's on every single MV page.

We are simply celebrating that the forum has made it from 2005 to 2025, a span of 20 years. It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that.

I've said it many times before...This is one of, if not the best, places on the internet. Extensive content and mostly reasonable discussions. Even the NSR discussions are typically entertaining and informative.

Jess - you and the moderators have done a spectacular job curating this forum. I can only imagine the headaches and stress running this place.

Like Bill mentioned previously, I would not have found out about Cannonball or many other scooter rallies over the years without this place. I've met so many folks in person that I would not have without this resource pointing me to events.

I've also greatly enhanced my wrenching skills and general knowledge of scooters and motorcycles.

Thanks for all your efforts and Congratulations on hitting a significant milestone.

Congratulations for sure. Quite a feat.
I bought my Vespa last year (2024), and found this forum shortly thereafter.
A fountain of information and great chat place.
So glad you started this forum.
An accumulation of knowledge from many like minded scooterists.

I joined May 4 2010 just a few days after I bought my first "Modern Vespa", which I still have.

I never was a very prolific poster. JimC, Bill Dog I'm looking at you, but I still check in about 5 days a week and I always will. I read at least the title to every post.

I miss some of those that are no longer with us, Judy, T5Bitza69 and Aviator47 most of all.

Thank you Jess. Your effort is appreciated.

Thanks for this great source of info!

I have been off for some time and just decided to stop by tonight. Then I realized that it has been 10 years since I joined! My current GT300 is one of my best bikes out of over 40 I've owned over the years. Now at 82 years old (nearly), it is my 'go to' ride!

Thanks again and keep it up! Oh, $$ coming your way soon!

The greatest thing about this place is that it doesn't allow those things in life that divide us (often petty) destroy the thing that unites us.

There's only one person to thank for the foresight to keep this place a nice and friendly corner of the www.

Thanks Jess 👍

And a big thanks to all the mods for having our backs.

And to absent friends 🍷

This is quite the coincidence I have the pleasure of celebrating the 20yr anniversary of my favorite scooter forum and my favorite Vespa dealer Vespa Shelbyville (Sep. 2005) Congratulations on such a great forum, and to many more years to come.

I'm on a forum for every vehicle I own or have owned since forums were a thing, and this is one of if not the best. Thanks for what you do.

Originally joined thinking I was going to pick up a P200, this forum convinced me I needed a "modern" Vespa.

I can only echo what has been said. I value this place for the enormous range of technical information (and with pictures!) Sharing personal scootering adventures and the difficulties of repairs and rebuilds. We've all been there. My last remaining scooter's the better for it, I'm the better for it. Keep on keepin' on brother. Ya done good.

I was one of the few to get one of the shirts before the copyright police put the kaibash on it.

I also have one with the regular Modern Vespa logos on it but I don't have a picture of it.

Hi Jess and fellow Monks.. Well done, and apologies as to me not joining of late..Post Covid era... not much club meet-ups here in London... so not much chance of a natter with fellow scooterists. Hope to be a bit more active soon.
Three Cheers for you Jess.

A bit late to the party, but wanted to chime in. Congrats on the milestone, Jess!

I think I started in 2012 within a month of buying my first scooter, a used LX150. In poking around on the web trying to find some answers to questions, I found MV and been here ever since!

I'm not sure where I'd be without it. It encouraged me to take longer (and longer) rides...the longest covering most of Kentucky, W Virginia into Richmond for Amerivespa. In parallel with that I found the majority of my scooter peeps directly or indirectly. It's been so long I can't remember all the details, but a number of good friends I've ridden with over the years, most of them still on MV ...Bill Leuthold, JKJ-FZ6. gitder, MadisonSully and the late wmak have all been MV connections.

MV has been amazing in supporting my wrenching as well, and I doubt I'd have rolled up my sleeves as often as I have to dig into things. There have been, and still are a number of people here that have been awesomely helpful guiding me through projects and getting me out of a few tight spots. Most are still around, though still miss Stromrider for his expertise.

What has made MV special is the social camaraderie and the various characters that inhabit this unique place. It's always been good for a good, if unexpected laugh.

Thanks all!
