Our son and daughter in law moved to West Asheville five years ago.
My wife and I started visiting as soon as they arrived, usually staying in the little town eight miles north of Downtown Asheville, Weaverville.
Our stays have been three times a year for two weeks each time, in an Air BnB.
Sarah has been looking at houses in the perfect town for a few years now, and we found one two months ago.
The purchase was closed a month ago and we have stayed in our new house twice now.
We still don't have much furniture but we finally have internet.
I brought Vanessa up last month and have been riding her almost every day while here, especially morning rides to Marshall for coffee and something to eat.
I continue to enjoy those morning rides when we don't have other important work to do, like the lawn or talking to contractors.
Yesterday I rode the back roads to Marshall to On Your Bike for coffee and a tasty breakfast burrito.
Then I kept riding, through Hot Springs, down 209 (The Rattler) then through Fines Creek and Crabtree to just north of Canton where I picked up Newfound Road to Jenkins Valley Road back to Weaverville.
Today was shorter, to Noodle Hole for coffee and a doughnut, then back home.
I took Rector Corner Road getting there and the low fuel light came on as I got onto the road.
It was still on as I headed home, taking Ivy Hill and Flint Hill Roads before getting back on 251.
Filled up at the Shell station (owned by one of my Jacksonville clients) where it took 2.2 gallons.
I could have ridden another 20 miles before running out.
Both beautiful rides, meeting new people and enjoying living here.
Bill
