Hi everyone

Managed to hopefully source a full engine casing for my Mk 1 Vespa rebuild. Chap seems legit. Comparing photos he sent vs my casing, I can see one difference. Anyone able to advise if I am correct? Or if there is no issue with my buying this new case?

Cheers

Sorry all, the top photo is the casing I am looking to purchase. The two photos of the casing with the wood from the shed in the background, are mine.

It might help if you post this in the Not-So-Modern section.

I meant I would move your post to NSM.
I deleted the repost.

Regarding your case. Is the replacement case also autolube equipped?
Bearing retainer looks funky... but its been a minute since I was in one.
Can you give us the serial numbers of the two cases?

Does something locate in the casting below the toothed gear in photo two. As it seems to have a recess not apparent on photo one.

Just got some advice from a friends dad and I am going to avoid it. It has the letter 'P' near one of the threads, which apparently can mean that it is pulled. Real shame! Thanks all.

The case you were looking at looks like non autolube.

It is definitely non autolube. The casting was the same for both types, and they would complete the machining and add the pinion stem for autolube models.

This is also a PX mk1 casing, meaning you won't be able to fit an inner oil seal on the rear wheel axle as on EFL models.
