Hi. Just thought I'd share my fun with you all. I have had some starting issues ( no starter engagement) on my 2015 Gts300. A little tap on the ecu or open throttle and let it spring back to idle usually got me going but I got inquisitive and dived in to the ecu. My scanner showed the throttle position at idle was all over the place and a metalic 'tap' on it would usually bring it back to under 4 units and it would start. So I uncliped the black plastic cover on the ECU which didn't help much so in deeper I went. Dissolved most of the silicon around the big wiring plug with petrol overnight and found i had to de solder 4 pins to the idle stepper motor then the circuit board came off, the throttle position sensor was a magnetic disc which was floating around all over the place so a dab or 2 of hot glue fixed that. Circuit board back on, resoldered stepper motor pins, some silicone on plug, a quick throttle position reset with the scanner tool and we were up and running, no more start problems. Happy days.
I've destroyed multiple of the newer G4 version of that ECU (yours is the G3). Also it was caused by my TPS coming loose i think. Can't pull that version apart so easily because it's buried in epoxy instead of a removable cover ðŸ˜
