This question has probably been asked before, but I can't find anything about it. I have a 300 GTS from 2023 and am wondering whether replacing the tires (currently Michelin) with 130 at the front and 140 at the rear would improve road holding and/or driving comfort? I know that the standard tires are 120/70-12 58S at the front and 130/70-12 62S at the rear. Or are there better suggestions in terms of brand/type based on your own experience, of course? When changing to 130 end 140 tires, what are the exact specs regading height and width? Thanks in advance for the advise.

Do it. The fat 140 looks great at the rear.

Doubt you will notice much difference other than maybe higher top speed with slight increase in diameter. Specs would be 140/70 and 130/70 if you're staying with 12 inch wheels.

depends on what you want the most, what is you primary goal and what are you prepared to sacrifice? everything is a compromise. to put it another way, what lead you to consider a different tire size?

130+140 looks cooler to some people but has less agility. ie more stability.

/60 looks cooler to some people but worse absorbing of road imperfections.

-13 needs different wheel rims.

can ignore 58S/62S (speed and temp ratings) as anything sold in the sizes you are looking at will be fine.

Thanks for your reactions, my main goal is to have more stability. The looks are not very important for me.

Going wider to 130 front and 140 rear is a bad idea. It will make your steering heavy and slow. You could also have tire rub on the fender.
Stick with the standard 120 front and 130 rear sizes. For a real upgrade, just buy better tires in those sizes.

Get the Michelin City Grip 2 or Pirelli Angel Scooter. These are top-tier scooter tires. They will give you the best grip and comfort without ruining the handling.

It really depends on where and how you're riding. I've run both upsized with great results.

If you typically ride mostly in urban/suburban areas where speeds are lower (< 40mph) and you're turning sharply frequently at intersections and parking lots, stick with the stock setup. You'll appreciate the agility and lighter handling.

If you typically ride mostly on secondary roads and highways at higher speeds (>45 mph), I'd recommend upsizing front and rear. You'll get improved high speed stability and better high speed cornering. The larger rear provides slightly taller gearing (~6%), so high speed cruising will result in lower RPMs at given speeds. The larger front provides more grip in corners and improved braking and will help reduce speedo error (on older GTS with speedo on front wheel). Some only upsize the rear to keep the lighter feel in the front.

Regardless of your decision, choose good tires. They are the only thing keeping you upright and good tires will last longer. Michelin CG2, Pirelli Angel, or Heidenau K58 are all top tier tires for the GTS. Angels are a bit stickier on dry pavement than the CG2, but wear faster. The CG2 is much better on wet pavement and wear really well on the GTS. If you regularly ride on damp/wet pavement, I would go with CG2 or Heidenau K58.

what is your riding constant of? city/urban than stick with the stocks size

touring or longer distances, the 130/140 combo works great.

I do mostly twisty and mountain type riding (smoke mountains) also have done a few scooter cannonballs and use the 130/140 combo with great results.

you might find the counters treeing is ever so slightly more effort but not by much.

I also feel tire wear is better with the 130/140 and makes the front end feel alot more stable at speeds and even when hard cornering.

as far as rubbing on the front fender, no issues. the rear you might get some inner splash fender if your are using the soft settings on the shocks.

you also might consider replacing the shocks front and rear with better quality like the SIP series or the Bitubo , both have alot better adjustability and help in stability .
