Modern Vespa

Okay, in the meantime, maybe I'll try to start it... but I need your help.
I'd like to see if it sparks, but my electrical system is completely ruined and disconnected. I don't even have a battery and I need to pick up a coil (would the GT one work for testing???)
I read that there's a modification to bypass it. I'd like to do a bench start before seeing if I can open the engine or not (even though it's very likely I'll have to open it). But first I want to try to start it... hehe hehe he.
How can I attempt to start it by bypassing the battery? Is it possible?

I set up a switch to do this on my GS150 60 years ago. Managed to find the circuit diagram that I recorded at the time. Hope it helps. It essentially puts the points in parallel with the HT coil instead of in series.

Loved my GS, and rode it for 12 years, covering 120,000 miles. Have fun restoring yours. I envy you.
