Interestingly majority of teams boys seem so near ech other now.
And further: Merc seems to handled the slow start sickness.
The strangest on sprint was Perez:s speed, and sad point was¨Hadjars problems. Never on the other car?

I'm enjoying the needle between the two Mercedes Benz drivers.

It's about time we had a bit of interteam drama.

what an exciting race today, best race I have seen in Indy for years. Lead changes almost every lap and sometimes a couple during the laps. the finish was the closest EVER.

congrats to Felix.

Katherine Legge did a sterling job by binning it while trying to avoid Ryan Hunter Ray.

Grosjean finished in a respectable position and Schumacher didn't embarrass himself too much.

As you say, it was a great race.

Now that Antonelli is so far ahead in the points I'm going to suggest that the Championship is decided and this is going to crush Russell's confidence when he may have felt that this was going to be "his" year.

I still believe that he'll leave the team by the close of the season.

Nice to see Hamilton and Verstappen back on the podium.

Some even writes of the F1.
Race was like good old times: plenty broken cars, some accidents, and plenty wide speed difference. Only thing differing from 1970s was that half of guys got penalties.

I enjoyed it.

Fisticuffs on the track between the Merc crew.

Ferrari getting good points and especially Hamilton squeaking past max for 2nd was delicious. Also tasty... Both Alpines in the points.

It looks like Hamilton wants to stay at Ferrari for another season and Max was talking about doing next year's Nurburgring as long as it doesn't interfere with F1 weekends so he might be with us for 2027 also.

I'm still wondering why he didn't opt for the Mustang when Ford would have been happy to throw a car at him for the race.

Maybe it wasn't race proven enough yet ?

As I observed earlier ány manufacturer would have been happy to.
Imo the Mercedes was the obvious choice.

Well apart from the Ferrari which is fast and reliable and they already tested it.

The M4 sure wasn't slow and there are Porsche GT3's sitting on the shelves.

Maybe not the A8

Historic F1 this weekend at Brands Hatch. Full Grand Prix Circuit as well.

I'm not sure that Kimi Antonelli is as good as Toto Wolff thinks that he is.

Granted, fast in F2, looks the part and is great for advertising but he hasn't done anything that's made me draw breath.

I think that he was promoted too soon because Toto didn't want to miss signing "The next best thing".

By all means sign him but give him time to learn his craft in a car with a Mercedes Benz engine while he adjusts to the Big League and then when he's ready put him in the Factory Seat.

I hate to say it but it looks like he's a bit out of his depth right now because he's been fast tracked too early.
and how many races as he won this year so far?

Went to Brands Hatch today for a Historic F1 Meeting.

Lots of good stuff going around but the show was stolen by a Jordan 194 with a Hart V10 engine in the back.

What a glorious sound.

Ergo F1 'formula'; a set amount of green fuel max. wheel base, max track width, max hight, minimal ground clearance. max tyre dimensions, save for flat bottom aero as you please and good luck with it.
Want e-power, feel free, but no pre-charging so charge the battery with the fuel allowance and energy recovery.

And scrap half the rules of engagement.

So even if you just added a couple of pistons to the current F1 engines to make it a V8 you'd still only have a 2 Litre so are they going to increase the capacity and leave it at that or will Hybrids still play a role ?

Also if you insist on using "Sustainable Fuel" why bother using a Turbo or a Hybrid at all as you're already as "Green" as you can be as you're not trying to be efficient with Fossil Fuels are you ? Or is it just great Marketing so that we can sell a few more Hybrids ?

If you're missing the drama, only a few more days until the next race

Zoom zoom!

(Having Russell crowned before the season kinda bugged me, so Kimi in there pleases me to no end. Also, Ferraris are sometimes doing /something/, so that's a little fun too.)

I got a lot of my bingo card for things that I wanted to happen actually happening at the last race so, for the first time in a while, I'm hoping the good times continue and there is some good racing at Monaco.

There won't be any good racing at Monaco. Not until they make the cars even smaller.

However there isn't any Active Aero this weekend so lets be grateful for that.

Having said that, Qualifying is going to be interesting.

I'm thinking that Verstappen might be on Pole.

Monaco is just making laps and following the leader, trying to not do anything stupid to take yourself out.
The only thing Monaco has is it elitist partying , oh look at me crowd.

So it goes, but I do hold out a little hope that the new regs and battery deployments will lead to something more than a parade. Either way, will find out this weekend!

They have a Historic Festival at Monaco which is worth a watch but it's not very well publicised. It is better than a modern day GP just because of the noise and the cars are actually racing.

The Monaco GP is a tradition that's become a bit of a farce but too many people make too much money out of it for it to be cancelled.

Russell seems to have lost his pace again.

It appears that Kimi is the real deal, at least in the best car.

Possibly a generational talent.

Easily world champion this year notwithstanding a complete collapse.

George certainly is feeling the pressure.

Looking forward to seeing him on a real racetrack soon.

Apparently the reason that there were so many pit lane speeding penalties was because so many drivers cut the pit lane entry.

Something that they were warned about during the briefing.

Alpine are appealing their penalty.

Perez loses his first points in 2026 for being out of position at the restart which means Alonso finishes P10. Not bad when he started in 21st.

Did I laugh when Max stalled? Yes.

Do I feel bad? Not really.

I am a petty fan...

Notes:

Agree Kimi will be almost untouchable, there is a lot of racing left, but he seems to be DC material.

Glad Hamilton is showing up again consistently.
Bummed G-man got penalized. Would have been great to see him on the podium.
Poor Leclerc.
Happy for Hadjar.

Cadillac won't be competitive until next year or maybe even the next at which point they'll wonder why they spent all that money on Herta.

I still want to see Verstappen at Le Mans and the Nurburgring in a Mustang GTD.
