Otmar Szatnauer holds Perez in high regard because of his work ethic but when he was at Red Bull they simply refused to listen to him as they were purely focused on Verstappen, something they freely admitted.
Cadillac picked Perez. Not the other way around. However I somehow feel that at least one driver won't be with the team next year as Herta is coming to the seat regardless. |

I think KImi would have won anyway but he would maybe have had to race someone for it. What a show; chapeau to Kimi! The penalty rain made it all a bit of a farce and nothing to detract of Hamilton's solid driving I thought Leclerq was robbed of his second place by Ferrari pit non-tactics. His following understeer skid was imo a result of him being rightly p'ssed off x the tarmac breaking up. One to forget asap imo. Looking forward to the next race at Barcelona as much as I dread the race at the Madring btw. |

The theory is that the cars were running at the correct speed into the pit lane but because the route the drivers took through it made the car cover the distance in less time, which is why the many sensors kicked off.
I'm not sure if Herta's time on the track during Free Practice is required to accrue licence points but it would be a waste not to run the guy you're trying to groom for a seat next year. I agree that Herta will take Bottas's seat but I believe that Perez is doing his best in a crap car and will be retained for 2027. Leclerc crashed at the hairpin because his rear brakes had failed. He'd been complaining about them throughout the race. |

I recently saw a movie called "Ladies First" on Netflix in which Sacha Baron Cohen plays a guy in his fifties who, in order to be a winner, dies his hair, starts working out, and wears tight clothes. For about half the movie I couldn't figure out who he reminded me of until a scene where he's in a sports car and then it hit me! It's Toto Wolff!

Who'd think that Red Bull would have the most powerful engine in F1 this year.
So much so that Mercedes Benz would be allowed an upgrade to keep up with it. |

Yes, it seems that you can make one car last 24 hours, but you can't make another one last 2.

This vehicle has been parked a couple of blocks from my house for a week or so. I don't know who owns it but it's pretty cool.

I went back to Brands Hatch today to watch the Group C cars do "Demo" runs.
Once the Pace Car came in there wasn't much demonstrating going on as the Mercedes Benz and the Porsches just went off at full chat while making the most glorious sounds. Saw Alex Brundle and Neil Clifford there also. Great day. |

I was talking to a friend about going to the Formula E race in London next month but it seems that next year's race is going to be held at my local track, Brands Hatch as well as Zandvoort in Holland.
I think I'm going to keep it local. Dan Ticktum can wait. |

So Russell got through on a single yellow flag and 15 seconds later it turned into a double yellow so his time stood.
Clever or Lucky ? Verstappen crashed because his rear wing didn't close. |

Yeah McLaren and Ferrari really got it wrong this weekend.
As you say, great to see Verstappen fighting for a podium. Silvertone next. Yawn. I'll be at Spa. |

What a great weekend for Motor Sport.
Verstappen's back on the podium and Russell seems to have found his mojo again. Porsche wins at the Spa 24 hours and Shane Van Gisbergen embarrassed the field at Sonoma. |

Interesting race, in many ways.
Perhaps Andretti boys are a little pissed their name is not there as they still are beating Aston Marting on nearly every race? ;-D |
