Hi everyone,

For the past few weeks, I've been noticing a strange noise coming from the transmission case (clutch side). I only hear it when the clutch disengages.

Additionally, I occasionally hear a sort of whistling or high-pitched whine when I give it a little throttle from a standstill.

I'm sharing two links to videos where you can clearly hear both sounds. These aren't my videos, but they perfectly match the noises I'm referring to:

Video 1 : https://www.facebook.com/1519348267/videos/pcb.10161778371342710/473371459023137

Video 2 : https://www.facebook.com/1519348267/videos/pcb.10161778371342710/1495929215133625

The dealer says it's all normal and that it might just be some dust buildup. What do you guys think? Is this just "Vespa character" or should I be worried?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Sounds like something vibrating. I had a similar sound on mine, only worse. I finally noticed that it was the license plate surround vibrating. The sound went away when the revs increased. A little tweak of the plate and the sound vanished for good.

Not fun tracking those things down. I had a slightly higher pitched rattle coming from the transmission area that I couldn't get sorted out. Suspected the clutch, but everything seemed fine. Suspected the roller at midpoint of the belt. Ultimately got distracted and last year suddenly realized it wasn't doing it anymore.

So, the way I see it, if nothing falls off in the meantime, it might just go away.

2400 km ...not close at all to a belt service in theory
