Im Anthony from Bend, OR.
wouldnt exactly say im a refugee from BBS but would definately like a more low intensity atmosphere...some of the BBS folks take their scooting too seriously.

Welcome to Modern Vespa! I'm the jrsjr who used to be on the BBS, now much happier here, I'm glad to say. Hope you will be, too. And I'm glad to see that cooler heads are prevailing, that others aren't following my poor example of thumbing their nose at the BBS on the way out. I'm so embarrassed...

Did I see on another thread that you have snow in Bend? Yikes, snow is not good for happy scootering. I keep worrying about the Cannonball running into snow somewhere in mid-to-late September. That would certainly bring our little adventure to a grinding halt! When's the earliest you've ever seen snow?

That is actually the only thing I'm afraid off while scooting. Snow and Ice, I don't mind driving in the rain, dark or wind, but snow freaks me out!

OZ: yup still no parts, i called them today and asked them to find out if it was even shipped out. I hate having to rely on dealers. After the warranty is up im learning to do EVERYTHING by myself. Right now im just doing all the maintinence stuff.

MATT: dood...my memory might be lapsing...but what is this fire blanket? haha

I was drinking a bit at the Portland rally but I distinctively remember you telling me a story about a silver foil blanked you had to take with you to wild fire photo shoots

IF things got out of control your employer told you to climb under the foil blanket & wait to cook ...... no no no ......your employer told you the fire should just pass right over you

Ahhh! yeah! actually it was a fire tent haha.
you lay inside it in case your surrounded by fire in a forest fire and hope that you survive. Ill wear it to the next rally haha.

oh yeah, regarding the snow...
it just started snowing over here a little bit....not much yet.
But the other day i was riding around like usual, parked...and on the way to work i realized that wherever there was shade, the ground was all iced up. scary stuff man...i didnt even realize that things were iced up...

Hey, Tony-- Meadows & Timberline are open! What a change from last year, eh? Not too cold for scootin' here in Portland, though-- w the right gear---

I actually just moved here about 10 months ago. So i only experienced the end of last winter. But it definately seems like itll be a colder winter...last winter was definately mild.
What is meadows and timberline?

hey anthony, those are the two ski resorts up in portland.
they opened late last year and they already have enought
snow that they are open now.

ahh...yeah mt bachelor here in bend just opened up this past friday i think. (although im not i skier or boarder).
id rather it be sunny and scoot-able=)
