Modern Vespa

Hi everyone,
We're a (newbie) travel creator couple from Indonesia, usually riding a vespa together and sharing our journey on YouTube (youtube.com/@tom_n_tam) . Our next dream ride is heading to Northern Thailand, exploring Chiang Mai and completing the Mae Hong Son loop, and also visiting Golden Triangle if possible.

At the moment, we're not able to bring our own bike into Thailand, so we're looking for options to rent or possibly borrow a modern Vespa (GTS would be better) in Chiang Mai. The plan is to use it for a six day ride start and return to Chiang Mai.

We'd love to ask:
- Any recommendations for trusted rental shops suitable for long-distance trips?
- Has anyone here rented a Vespa specifically in Chiang Mai?
- Do rental shops usually allow bikes to be taken out for long loops like Mae Hong Son?
- Any important things we should be aware of (insurance, deposit, restrictions, etc.)?
- We're trying to keep the journey light, but still safe all the way back.

I joined a small group of riders from NZ for a ten day tour of the hills around Chiang Mai -celebrating my 75th some 16years back- including the magic of all the bends around the Mae Hong Son loop. The bike I rode was a pretty flogged out Honda 600. One of our guys had a fairly new Kawasaki trail bike with nice long suspension. That I reckoned was the ideal machine.
In Chiang Mai there were several bike shops offering bikes of all ages-and prices
for hire. We went in early October and had just one day of torrential rain.
It was brilliant!
