So, looking at the underside of my 2024 300 GTS, I'm looking for the best place to position a jack to lift the bike to remove the front wheel. The battery box is the lowest point but looks vulnerable to support the weight so where do you place your jack? I'd have thought the further forward the better. Thanks.

Empty your seat bucket and remove it. Turn it over, and slide it under your scooter as you shift its weight toward the rear wheel. No jack needed.

Anywhere under the scoot is safe weight wise, the "spine" of the frame is down the middle. Jack at front or rear depending on which end you want to lift, a block of wood and/or padding to protect paint.

Scooterwest has a great center jack stand .

There are many online options

eBay
Amazon

I used thick -3/4 closed cell foam on mine.

It's currently at the shop for the body swap.

Thanks. I've seen that technique used on a few YouTube videos which is a great one to remember in an emergency. The guy makes it look so easy and I had a go but found the bike too heavy to lift while positioning the bucket. So it would have to be a two man job for me. Maybe I'll have another go and perfect a technique.

Stand astride the front wheel and lift the handlebars with the underside of your arms. Get someone to push the seat bucket under the belly of your scooter. Don't attempt to use the front fender as a lifting point. I once took my GTS to a local mechanic who tried to manoeuvre the scooter in their tight workspace that way and they managed to break the fender off it's mounting on the front fork.

Great advise and you'd have thought a 'mechanic' would have more common sense than to try and lift a GTS by a piece of plastic bodywork!
Yep, that 2 man technique would certainly work although I was concerned about the weight of the bike - 163kg, crushing the bucket. Ideal with a flat tyre and in an emergency, although I'm thinking about getting a lightweight trolley jack or bottle jack which of course can be used for a multitude of other uses and are available from £20 - £30.

Except what's your bucket look like now, I'm thinking this would trash the bucket.

Taking a WAG and passing it as knowledge is hardly helpful. If you haven't done this, why chime in? You're not supporting the whole weight of the scooter. Some people sure love placing an Amazon order for something that gets used once in 4 years. Some people don't like doing this.

don't get a bottle jack, not stable for the purpose.

get a small platform jack, many threads here on that topic.

Right. So it's finally stoppped raining for 20 mins so used the break in the weather to try the upside down bucket technique. Absolutely brilliant 👍👍. First I lifted the front wheel on to a 2" block of wood which raised the body so I could slide the bucket underneath with a towel on top to protect the paint. I then supported the front of the bike, kicked the wooden block away and gently lowered the bike onto the bucket. Completely stable and thanks for all your tips.
