Hello! I replaced the front and rear pads. The rear ones were still original, from 2006! Mileage 40,000 km. Only 20 percent worn, but I replaced them because they are already 20 years old.
The question is: how freely should the front wheel spin if you turn it by hand?
I feel that the pads hold it a little, it makes another 1/4 turn and stops smoothly. After replacing it, I drove 100 km.
The brake fluid level is normal. I replaced it last year.

The front wheel should turn freely. If you want to see if there is brake drag, remove the caliper and spin the wheel. Is it the same w/ and w/out the caliper mounted. Gently place a wood shim between the pads when you take the caliper off to keep them from closing.

I removed the caliper and spun the brake disc - it spins freely, much better than with the caliper.

1. Did you clean and lube the caliper during pad install? 2. Did you use Piaggio brake pads? If it were mine, I'd remove the brake pads and clean the piston and surrounding area with mild soapy water and rinse, lube everything with some caliper grease, take 120 grit sandpaper on a flat surface and run your pads up and down to knock a bit off.

LX has single side piston caliper on the front, critical that caliper is free to float on slider pins.

At pad change clean and lube pins and bores, silicone grease recommended. Replace caliper if boots are damaged or pins won't slide freely.

A year ago I disassembled and cleaned the caliper. 2 pistons, as in the photo. This time I did not clean it, the pads are original.
