I have an "80" P frame that I'm going to attempt to refresh. Will need to weld holes shut that were made by a drill-happy person previously. It's at the beginning stages and only got death wheeled a couple of times.

What would be the best method for repairing these dents?

Wow! It looks like the previous owner got a drill for Christmas! As for the dents, ideally they should be hammered out from the back side. If access to the back side isn't there you can try mig welding small pieces of say 1/4" all thread about 3" long right in the center of the dent. Then use a slide hammer to knock out the dent as best as you can. Leaving the dent slightly high is ok as you can knock it back down. Cut off the all thread when your done and grind off the weld. Fill in the rest with your favorite body filler and sand smooth.

Good luck.

I love new tools, but it won't be proven until flapper disking is done.

Nice! Are you going to mig weld the hole closed? The weld won't stick to the copper pad blocking the hole! . I would recommend a Tiger Paw sanding disk fitted to an angle grinder.

Yes, I'm going to weld all of the holes shut. That's what the copper backing plate with the magnetic mounts is for.

The flapper disk (tiger paw) is what I'm using to remove the paint.

Finally done with 99% of the paint stripping. I'm very pleased at the lack of rust.
