I bought an LX50 advertised as an 09, registered as an 06 and the VIN says 07. Should be a two valve motor, but the VIN implies a 4 valve. To be determined.

Low mileage, two prior owners. A few dings, scratches and minor dents. I know it needs a belt, rollers, carb rebuilt, etc. But it ran, and when I took it out for a spin it promptly died. After some troubleshooting
I determined it was the CDI, so I ordered a cheap amazon unit and a new spark plug.

Installed the plug and CDI today and it fired up.

I'm going to be doing the euro light mod and started that. I want to do it for cheap so I'm re routing the pod wires to the DRLs and then I'm just going to apply amber tint to the lights because finding amber bulbs here is difficult.

I've also go an s50 seat on order because I'm not a fan of the lx style or color

Yeah, just not this year. BBK and a performance cam as soon as I save up.

I'm also not sure if it's worth investing in stiffer clutch and contra springs, does that make a difference with 4 strokes?

Can get clear amber in a spray can too, that's the route I went.

Only need stiffer contra if the belt is slipping, not likely with a 4T 50cc. No real performance advantage. Clutch springs raise engagement rpm, will get off the line a bit quicker.

The scoot had some pretty deep gouges on one side, I've never been good with body work. Filled them in, sanded and played around with rattlecans and paper stencils
