Can I jumpstart it the same way I do a vehicle? I have a portable Dewalt battery jump starter.

Press the seat button or use the key, then remove the battery cover

you can but what the battery really needs is a deep charge, highly recommend you get a NOCO battery charger, 1 or 2 amp one. walmart carries them.

the noco chargers are awesome they can actually repair lead acid batteries cells. they also can be used on any type battery (lithium) and are smart chargers as they detect what type of battery and then charge to that type battery needs.

jump starting while can get you started and running it will no be enough to fully deep charge the battery over the long haul. the charging system will only maintain battery and doesn't really deep charge batteries that have been discharged to the lower levels.

my son bought one and used it on his jeep that had been sitting for 6 months and the battery was only showing 8v. it brought it back in about 8 hrs and the battery has been fine and doing great for the last 1.5 yrs. he got the 2 amp one.

I've used a portable jump start box powered by lithium batteries on my 2008 MP3-500 without problems, so you should be OK.
The smallish stock battery in the MP3 always makes me nervous because it's only rated for 8Ah. Not a lot of reserve power for a 500cc engine, in my opinion. I started looking for batteries with a higher AH rating that would fit in the stock location and discovered that lithium based batteries of higher AH are available, but quite expensive. The 8Ah lithium battery in my MP3 was already US$250. These battery companies are definitely gouging the public. In the end, I built my own lithium battery rated for 20Ah that is the same size as the stock battery. 30Ah is possible if higher rated cells are used. The best part is that it cost me less than US$60. Details here, for anyone interested: Regulator rectifier for lithium battery

Huh? I used to run a YTX-16BS in my Fuoco (2007 MP3 500) back in the day.

That was an AGM - if you use LFP (LiFePO4) batteries then you don't need a big Ah rating. The characteristics of an LFP battery ensure you have at least 13.2V available, rather than the weedy 11V or so of a lead-acide battery under laod.

It's not the voltage, it's the Ah that's lacking. If my MP3 has all of it's ducks in a row, then no problem, the engine starts up immediately. My current battery is a ATX-12 lithium. I've experienced times when my engine did not want to immediately start, killing the battery, thereby requiring a jump start. It only happened a couple of times, but being in my 70's, I don't want to risk that happening far from home without a jump box and me having to push a near 600 pound scooter around with my spindly legs. The higher capacity battery is for peace of mind and insurance for me.

It's not Ah. it's how much current it'll push in a few seconds - Ah is merely how much energy is stored, not how quickly it'll deliver that energy.

CCA is a better measure. That why a jump-start pack can deliver 300A but only have 4Ah capacity.

I know what you're saying, but Ah is important if an engine won't start immediately. You can look at it like the batteries fuel tank size. It does no good if the battery can supply 300A, but only for a few seconds for an engine that doesn't want to immediately start.

If it doesn't start within 30 seconds it's fucked anyway.

I removed the battery and charged it overnight.
Battery is done. No good
I bought it four years ago and it has been the best battery I have ever had.
No trickle charger and sometimes parked for two months of wintry weather. Started up every time.
I drove to Batteries Plus and replaced the battery with a new one just like it.
