I traded in my 2017 MP3 500 for a 2024 MP3 400 HPE Sport. What a huge difference! It has a better engine, so it feels like there's just as much power; the bike accelerates just as quickly and rides very smoothly. I'm really happy with it!

The 2024 Piaggio MP3 400 HPE Sport is lighter, more technologically advanced, and smoother than the 2017 Piaggio MP3 500, despite having a slightly smaller engine displacement.
Engine and Performance • 2017 MP3 500: Features a larger 493cc single-cylinder engine with traditional architecture, delivering robust power but transmitting more vibration and weight. • 2024 MP3 400 HPE Sport: Features a modern 399cc High Performance Engine (HPE) with a PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system and optimized components that reduce internal friction and vibration. Real-world riders note that the advanced 400 HPE engine accelerates just as quickly and feels nearly as powerful as the older 500. Weight and Handling • 2017 MP3 500: Heavier, weighing around 282 kg (rijklaar/ready to ride), which can make low-speed maneuvering and heavy traffic handling more taxing. • 2024 MP3 400 HPE Sport: Significantly lighter at roughly 257 kg, offering a more nimble, agile, and smooth ride. Technology and Features • 2017 MP3 500: Uses older analog-digital instrumentation, basic safety features, and lacks modern smartphone integration. • 2024 MP3 400 HPE Sport: Includes modern rider aids like ASR traction control, anti-lock brakes (ABS), keyless ignition systems, a larger TFT or advanced digital display, and the Piaggio MIA multimedia system for smartphone connectivity via handlebar controls. |

Well don't keep it to long italians and electronics
Tensen is one of the good dealers in the Nehterlands, so let them take care of it but don't leave it outside all the time or under a cover, the electronics still corrodes that's one thing the italians dont get right still Look at Alfa Fiat Guzzi and Ducs (Stucgaatie) some come with electronic problem straight out of the factory experienced that 2 times And your qoute is just sales talk, the new 400 is nothing more then the older 350 hpe from 2012 with a bigger cylinder The 500 became a 44HP HPE and that one became a 530 with 45 hp that 20 kg weight differences not very noticeable because of the torque differences For me the best drving is still the Fuoco oke mine are a HPE or a twin Cylinder 1000cc last one still work in progress but both have more weight on the front |

I ride my MP3 every day, even in the rain. I only leave it parked when conditions are slippery (black ice) or snowy. I keep the MP3 under a cover, and I've never really experienced starting issues—I'm on my third MP3 now.
As for those selling points: that might be the case, but that hasn't been my experience so far. Riding the 2024 400 HPE Sport is truly comparable to riding the 2017 500 model. I've discussed this with others, too—at the MP3 weekend event I always attend at Arjan Brouwer's in Putten, so there's plenty of opportunity to compare notes with actual riders—and they confirm what I'm saying. You have a different opinion, and that's fine. For the time being, I don't share your view. |

Another quirk. The wipers become erratic and stop working when it rains. Nobody could talk him out from buying a Maserati, but now he's getting desperate to cut his losses and buy a Lexus LC500 |
