I am pulling the engine on my '04 tonight. I have an appointment Thurs to flow the head. I will be flowing the head with both a stock cam/cylinder and a Malossi cam/cylinder. I plan to photo all.

Hey Jim,

What lift is that you use? Looking to get something for the garage so I don't have to sit my old ass on the floor... Thanks!

Lift info
Not sure of the brand, but I purchased it on ebay. I pick it up in So Cal, so I paid no shipping.

Ck with CHEYRLRHODES@HOTMAIL.COM it is an 800lb lift with removeable ramp/tail and optional air lift.

hey jim, what do you do with the body of the bike when you pull the motor?

i usually just throw an old tire under it, but was thinking of devising a "bike stand" that allows the bike to be moved around the shop.

best,
-greasy

If you look close at the photo you will see a sissor jack that has been modified to fit the engine cage.

I use this to help with oil changes or any other time I need the center stand up and rear wheel off the ground.

I also have a Craftsman motorcycle jack that I will be modifying to do motor pulls so that I dont tie up the rack. I had planed to have this done, before I pull the motor this time, but I needed it done no latter than Wed PM so I had to use the rack. When complete the attachments will be GT specific and allow the scooter to be wheeled around the shop as need with or with out a motor and/or front fork.

It out, it apart I'm lapping valves.
OK, I got a wild hair and removed the head, cylinder, valves, and all the trans parts. I may split the case, but more on that later. I am lapping the valves tonight and headed out in the AM.

I will photo the head being flowed and post soon. I will also post photos of the GT on the rack with no engine and the jack I modified.

What a day...........

Mike Fisher of VW fame @ Competition Engineering VW Shop in Phoenix, AZ flowing my GT200 stock cylinder, head, cam.

This cobo flowed 57CFM of air @10 inches (intake) This is pleminary work and will require much more time and effort, but it will be worth it.

I learned a lot today about flow benchs etc. I will be fabing a fixture for the flowbench in the photo for the Vespa Leader 200 and 250 engines. I also will be fabing a jig to help with the flow process.

More info to come.

I would like to thank Mike Fisher and CE owner and friend Dan Lawson for their help with this project.

Check them out.

Thanks, I found it. Might be a bit much to ship to Ohio.
