Modern Vespa

I have composed this poem
For all of you to see

In hopes of helping out
The poor apostrophe

He usually works alone
And does not need an S

To use him just to pluralize
The word makes such a mess

He means to show possession
Of what belongs to who

He also takes the place
Of another letter too

Vespa is a good word
Means one and only one

Vespa's means not some more
But belonging to that one

So if you have a Vespa
And then you get another

Remember that Vespas will
Include his brand new brother

I really like your poem
I hope you write another

a fellow with talent like yours
should share with others

and since you are a master
of fun poetic larks

perhaps you can tackle
the misuse of quotation marks

I think nightwing should write a book of all his MV poems but he doesn't want to

I have never found a subject that I can't do a verse on. It's a curse. (Notice the appropriate use of the apostrophe in both sentences.)

So, the MV lingo thread got me thinking again about this wonderful composition by our friend NightWing.

Not a MV poem, but I have one to share.

As I awoke one morning, when all sweet things are born
a birdie purched upon my sill, to signal the coming morn.

His words were soft and tender, and softly did he sing
A joy of happiness to my heart he did bring.

I lured him through the window, with a nice white piece of bread
the quickly slammed the window, and crushed his friggin head.

Sorry, I'm having a bad day.

Open forum here I go
My mind is full about to blow

I've opinions I plan to share
Some will hate but I don't care

The truth deserves to be well known
The problem is it's just my own

High test gas I only use
Any other is just abuse

Forty bucks for but a filter
Keeps my engine from out of kilter

MSRP to my dealer
Doesn't mean that he's a s.t.e.a.l.er

Ten bucks for a cup of oil
My crankcase surely will not spoil

And I won't pull on my own wrench
But rather watch that from the bench

Lots of stuff I have repaired
But with my scooter I am scared

Vespa training I have not
But my dealer's guys are really hot

So I will pay all that is required
Even if my warranty has expired

So now this poem I will close
Prepare for flames and get the hose

Excellent, can you add something about slamming a the window sill on their head like I have in my poem and you have my vote for best poem on MV.

I believe it is doggerel if you are referring to useless poetry.

Grammar Nazis I have heard
Examine every written word

They look and read and criticize
And they must think that they're so wise

Or is it that they're Nazis not
A High School diploma's all they've got

The stuff they catch is from the book
And not some fancy way to hook

Excuses come and there are many
Alibis to cover the writer's fanny

Instead of taking great offense
Write your words so they make sense
