So I have heard that the Vespa GTS250 will be priced $400.00 above the GT200 MSRP and that the ABS will not be available for another 9 to 12 months after the release of the first batch of GTS250's. Has anyone heard this to be true as well??

Happy scootering

MSRP is $5799
no word yet on ABS but dealer convention is the 18th and more info should come after that. There's a summary of the big GTS announcement elsewhere on this forum. Just put ' GTS ' in as a search term and you should be able to locate it pretty easily.

abs rant
Having ridden motorcycles with ABS in the past, I trust my braking style more than I trust ABS. In a car its cool, on a bike, I'm gonna have to say no!

just my 2 cents.

The classic high-side is often caused by locking-up the rear wheel, letting the rear brake go free, and then being catapulted over the handlebars. ABS brakes will prevent the rear lock-up, and the high-side. That's invaluable.

ABS brakes are not a "cure-all" though. They will not work, nor detect, a slide-out in a curve or a slide-out on slippery surfaces.

I recomend you try riding a bike with ABS before you go buying one. Demonlarry is right.
