I need to check the timing on a 1966 Vespa VSCIT. I have downloaded a deg. disc but not sure how to use it. The timing should be 26 deg. BTDC. Any help is appreciated.

do you have a piston stop or is the head off so you can determine TDC?

I don't have a piston stop and the head is still on but I have found a procedure on ignition timing under Team Vespa. I may use a screwdriver to determine TDC and an ohm meter to determine the current timing using the deg. wheel. Previously, I had removed the stator and had to rewire it due to the original insulation on the wiring had crumbled off. Before removing the stator, I marked its position but, must be off due to noticeable power loss going up hills and poor starting when engine is warm. All help is appreciated.
