Big handfull of questions here.

Does anyone have both a Vespa topcase as well as either a Prima or SX canvas case? I'm assuming the hardcase is bigger... by how much? Exact measurements aren't neccessary, just a gneral comparison (say, one can hold an extra liter of soda or something). Are either of the canvas cases fairly water resistant, with or without a cover (for those sudden rainshowers)? How easy is the canvas case to remove, if you felt you really needed to take it with you at somepoint? For those of you with both types of cases, which do you like best, and what are your opinions as to why? I know the obvious advantages/disadvantages, but I like real-world accounts for my research.

i had the sx canvas bag for over a year. i had it secured with zip ties, so it wasn't easy to remove. never had it out in the rain. i have a givi e350 now. love it. it locks. it locks on and you can remove it by pushing a button. it's waterproof. it has a stop light kit you can add. imo it's way better than canvas.

I have an SX case in black that I've thought was really great - until the black started to fade and it began to sag a little from sitting on my GT200 stock rack.

I'm just not a hard topcase kind of person - IMHO it seems to upset the lines of the bike, but I can see why people might have to have them for securing their valuables, etc.

My solution is that I've contacted a company in Colorado that makes saddles, chaps, etc. - they made a pair of custom chaps for my daughter - and they are going to make me a leather version of my SX case - kind of like the classic Piaggio leather case. I may even have them send me enough hide so I can upholster my seat to match.

I concur....

Givi top cases are wicked.

IMHO...adds increased visibility to the scooter as well.
And with all the extra storage space you could even transport
a case of beer. good times!

I agree with Stungover on the overall looks of the SX case over the Vespa hard case. The SX will sag over time and the black will fade over time. I like the look after the fade a cool grey color and the sag I guess I got used to. After seeing the Givi case I do like the functionality and ease of use of the Givi. The SX case will hold a 12 pack of long neck beer bottles with some room for sunscreen and beach towel. Or it can hold a Nolan full face. or My Carazzo messenger bag with computer and my lunch box. Or 4 bags from the grocery store. I like the canvas because it does deform a bit to allow odd shaped items (to some extent Bitubo shocks)
