OK so I had placed on order for a 500, about a month or so ago. On Thursday I go to pick it up, and I have been excited as HELL!!

Once someone on here ask if people rode one before they bought it, I for on had not. In fact the most I have ridden any bike has been at the MSF course about two weeks ago.

ANY way, today I went to the local Vespa dealer (have to get mine up in Seattle), and while talking to him ask if their MP3 250 was a demo... He said yes, and let my take it out..

MY GOD I loved it, I mean I was figuring I was going enjoy having one, but I had a blast just demoing the 250 for half an hour.

Things I notices: 1) It is a heavier than the little 150 I used for the MSF course, so since I am getting a 500 that is heavier still, attention will have to be paid and 2) it has more power than the little 150 I used at the MSF course, again the 500.. umm little faster....

So bottom line is I am so excited for it to be Thursday I am trying to figure out how to skip tomorrow and just get to it. Also I am VERY aware that my first few rides are going to be around the neighborhood and empty parking lots.

Is it Thursday yet?

My 500 sometimes catches me off guard with its power off the line. You'll get used to the weight in no time. There's something about this bike that really makes people, you and I included, jumpy and excitable until we get to take em home and ride. It is a nice bike and extremely user friendly. This afternoon, I managed to take a corner low enough to drag the stand in the middle of the city without blinking an eye.

Got mine last Saturday - it's like the wait for Christmas, but it never ends even after unwrapping.

The "smile" is still there . . . .

PDX,

Can I ask why you bought it from Seattle and not your local dealer?
Vespa Seattle is REALLY convenient for me (I live next door ) so if they have a good reputation I would certainly buy from them. I am trying to wait till I take the MSF course (a couple of weeks away yet) before buying anything but that is getting harder and harder.

Alba, I just sent you this as an IM, but deiced to go ahead and post it. Again I do not know the dealership well but this is my reasoning.

I went with Vespa in Seattle just because they are the closest shop that actually has an MP3 500 in stock.

The Portland dealership, while very nice people, has no idea when they are going to be getting one, and I am not THAT patient : )

For what its worth, they people I heave delt with in Seattle , Steve and Victor have been great to deal with over the phone.
