okay okay, they're not very unique in that 35% of the cars on the road nowadays are these... but i supposse they are unique unto themselves.

it was (and still is) my dream car! had it just over 3 years now and LOVE IT just as much as ever!

I saw a demolition derby once where two Farm Combines used an up-side-down VWBug as a soccer ball. Awesome!

Grey - mullman, I have done many of the repairs/maintenance myself. It is a true learning experience as all I have to go by is a parts manual written in Italian. In the last 2 years I have rebuilt the water pump, 6 carbs, and replaced clutch hydraulics. I have many pictures of these repairs and lots of the car. Will have to figure a way of sending a few to you.

It reminds me of the V8 Pinto conversions back in the day.....Or the Aluminum block Vega conversions. (221 Buick? Is that right?)

The good old days 1974 maroon camaro,1978 burnt orange camaro.1980 280ZX red with black special edition number 1001,1984 metallic light blue 300ZX turbo (i miss both of those cars ),1988 rabbit rag top,red 1993 honda, a couple of beaters and the current POS 1992 nissan sentra that has an awesome clarion sound system. I don't use my car that much over here so why spend the money for a good one. Have driven Deloreans,mercedes,ferraris but my fav car was the 300 ZX turbo. For the money that was a sweet handling car IMOH.

Same here! I wish alfa was in the states again. Used to have a 87 Spyder Graduate and an '83 GTV6. And if i can ever afford/find one, I'd love to have a Junior Zagato

A little surprise I used to have for Mustangs. I later took it out.




0-60 in 5.2 seconds without nitrous. It spins the wheels too badly to really get a good 0-60 time.

Most unique car was a 64 Studebaker Land Commander (Great name). Always wanted a Avanti.

I have a '64 Karmann Ghia a '66 Split Screen Westfalia Camper, and a couple of other old Bugs, one I used to Drag Race.
I'm a bit of a VW fan as well.

My car and scooter look great together with the silver trim on black. However the poor fuel economy on big aussie cars is making me think about trading it for a Cooper S soon.

Another toy, my 87 Oldsmobile 442. My first car. 14 years later it has been restored and sits in the garage next to my Vespas.

73 Karmann Ghia , could have fixed her up but bought an MP3 500 instead. Too embarrassed to post her she's all messed up.

When I was little my parents had an old Packard. I don't remember what year it was. I used to sit on the armrest in the middle of the backseat. I think it got something like 6 mpg. Whoever bought it was planning to restore it for car shows. It was a deep eggplant.

My garage is overflowing and I feel like the crazy cat lady with motorized vehicles.

I own a very lonely neglected 97 civic EX, its needed CV boots for about 8 months now but I just don't use it, also has a hole in the exhaust I need to get fixed before they ask for another smog check. 220k miles or so.
Shall I list what I want or should I wait for another thread?

Aside from my 3 LX's, my other vehicle is a boring, silver 2005 Jeep Liberty which is soon to be sold and replaced with a Smart Car if I can figure out a way to jack it up higher so it will clear the speed bumps we have all over the place!

I don't need the Liberty anymore as I have done all the heavy loads I needed to do for my garden and have no need for such a large vehicle anymore. I haven't driven the darned thing more than four times since last November. In fact, I am not even sure I need a car at all anymore! Hmmm.

I went 'no car' about three years ago. Never regretted it.

I may join you Jim. I am going to have to consider it seriously. The only problem will be that once a month, I like to do a big shop for all those bulky household items. However, I may be able to pay my assistant or the gardener to do that for me and save myself the price of the car AND insurance AND maintenance. All I would have to do is pay them for their gas, wear and tear on their vehicle and a small amount for their time. As I said ... Hmmmmm! It might make economic sense to do away with the car altogether! I really have no need for it anymore. Maybe when I get a little older and find the scooters a little too much to handle ... but until then .... hmmmmmm

Personally, I don't think I could be without a car, even if I didn't need one (which I do). I'm a petrolhead with a definate 4 wheel bias, but I appreciate stuff with less wheels and currently love a 49 cc 4 horsepower auto scooter
