In the meantime, I am going to check every nut & bolt, every hose clamp, the fluids, the tire air pressure,
and look in the gas tank, to verify it's got gas. Just like my Great Grandfather did... in 1908 ⚠️ Last edited by johnwwwatson on UTC; edited 1 time

Never owned a motorcycle have you? These things vibrate, that vibration causes things to come loose. That is why they have recommendations for going around and checking the bolts regularly.
As far as hose clamps, things happen. Wayne B |

Have you ever owned a thumper before? A single cylinder 500 vibrates a lot. I use to have to tighten nuts & bolts on my old XT 500 all the time. Had a hug can of metric nuts & bolt I got when I was turning wrenches on motorcycles.

real close, had an SR500, no reason what so ever for coolant hoses to be 'vibrating off' also these modern big singles just don't vibrate like our old 70s thumpers did. My old man had a post war enfield single, now talk about vibration

Jap engines rattled apart with great regularity I'm told. When was the last one made?
