I have about 3200 miles on my BV500. Starting at about 2000 miles it started popping while decellerating, now it has poor performance, stalls and erratic operation at low throttle. This is very frustrating since I have no faith in the local dealer's technical skills, they are quoting 30 days for the first available service visit and it's the summer and I want to ride! Crying or Very sad emoticon

I have changed the oil/filter and regapped the plug (was way wrong at .045", now at .030"...makes it run smoother while running poorly). It always starts easily.

I have a copy of the service manual, but most of the things it lists requires the Piaggio diagnostic computer. I am finding it difficult to believe it could be that screwed up. Scheesh...this thing is less than a year old for crying out loud.

Mine did the same thing. Dealer added clamps to some hoses on the fuel pump.

Although they are not a Piaggio dealer I would ask P_town scooters if they think they may be able to help you.

This is a warranty/build issue - search fuel clamps and Scarabeo- and it took about 2500 miles for it to get bad - probably due to fuel lines getting broken in. This should not cost anything!!!!

I'd bet it is the same issue. My bike performed like a rocketship once the clamps were put on.

I recently purchased a BV500 so I figured I'd google this issue and take care of it before it became a problem. It seems to be pretty common thing with the BV500s. Here's a link to a thread easybv started with some good info:

BV500 Stalls Any one Else have this issue

I'm gonna go down to the local hardware store and get some clamps later today.

All you scoot folks rock - FIXED!!!
You all told me that it was likely a couple of simple hose clamps between the fuel pump and the outside world....and you were totally right on. My scoot not only runs perfectly (properly gapping the plug was real important too), it runs better than ANY BV500 I have ever ridden (including the dealer demonstrator). It really hauls ass! Thanks so much. Happy happy!

Scooter people are good people.
That BEV 500 is an awesome machine.
I am saving up for one, a set of clamps, and a properly set gap on the plug I guess!
