The GTS has been in the midst of having heated hand grips installed for about six months - spending the entire time with the head end disassembled.

110 degree day yesterday, the GTS was finally back together, and at 8:15pm I decided to make sure it was ready for the Sunday VCLG ride.

Grabbed my Corazzo, helmet, gloves - I retained my shorts and sandals- just staying in the 'hood and under 25mph. Well it felt soooooo good I couldn't say no, couldn't get off and needed a happy ending; I'd been working on it all afternoon.

There were no close calls, mounds of gravel appearing magically, wildlife trying to end it all on my front wheel, and I even did the first 6 miles of Mines road - tempting sportbike territory.

25 miles later around 9PM I got home to dirty looks from my wife. Not only had I left without pants, I was late for dinner.

I need to do some kind of penance for this....

Ok. So now I'm wondering.

Does the inability to get off and happy endings really need to be mutually exclusive?

I think not.

Ok I'll fess up too.

I went out today with just my modular helmet, gloves, jacket, brand new mesh pants with knee and hip armor....but NO boots. I don't have boots yet.. just my leather walking shoes. Gonna get boots next.

But I had a couple guys on motorcycles wave at me! I think I looked so much like them in their full gear ('cept for the boots...) they didn't notice I was on a mere scooter till it was too late for them to recind their wave.

I'm really getting lazy with the gear lately but went on a great ride today where I wore most of it. Everytime I wear the 3/4th I remember the pic's of the %of where one hits most often (chin area) in a spill, so wore the full face modular, gloves and the mesh. But last night (I'm going to get in trouble here), hit the Italian Deli for some Tasty cakes, fresh bread and milk with no gear on. Guilty, as charged!

As far as happy endings go-I need a good massage about now. Laughing emoticon

edit - I should clarify, I'm getting lazy due to the hot weather here.

Mines Rd. in Livermore? If so, I've done a few races and many rides on that road.

I win
Test ride on the 4th:

full face, sneakers, no gloves, cycling kit (with a sleeveless jersey no less!)

And I didn't even think it was that weird until I read this thread... hmmm. I guess I am used to road rash. And spandex.

Good thing the seller is throwing in helmets, jackets and gloves!

I rode down the sidewalk about 50 yards, the wrong way, with sneakers, no jacket, no helmet and a HUGE smile on my face to the gas station from our stewart's meet-up 2 weeks ago.
one of the guys took a picture of me doing it, but i have some dirt on him so he won't post it

Nope, it's not bad at all. I have pretty tough feet though. I walk outside without shoes on regularly and have countless miles of road marches under my belt. I just make sure that I use the ball of my foot. The arch might be a little painful.
