Modern Vespa

just saw motorsport scooters made the nbc nightly news. pretty cool seeing this on the national news.

Yeah we've been getting a lot of attention in papers and such in Boston of late... a bit of a Vespa "revolution" with the gas prices: "Vespa Boston sales up 600%" was I believe one bit of news...

Now I feel less special on the streets

I have seen many more local stories about scooters due to gas prices. It was nice to see NBC run their story to, my concern was the pre-report where Lester Holt said something about "scootering to beat high gas prices, but it comes with a price." Once the story actually ran, I didn't hear anything about, "the price" he referred to. Anyway, good coverage and it's neat to see more scooters in my area too.

Good point! I just saw it and I agree that was a bit misleading. I believe he was referring to the longer wait to get a scooter nowadays. The bike they showed with a $500 deposit and not getting it until October was probably the message they were trying to deliver.

just saw the TV story. Being here in the SF bay Area, it was my first time to see the Motorsport Scooters dealership. A great shop to deal with. Just another story about how economical scooters are and to tell us all something we already know...Scooters are FUN!

Usually by the time i vote i already know who's won Altho this past election hawaii was mentioned since it was a closer election than usual. As the last in the USA to see the clip i think the tie in with gas prices not a good one. Finally got to "meet" alex who takes all my phone orders Thanks ALEX. Hell if i was the reporter i'd be still riding that vespa He acts like he's ridden before.

What's funny is that could mean they sold 12 (usually sell two a month, sold six last month= 600%)

For a company that has really poor dealer support - ask a dealer how much Piaggio helps them, really bad publicity (other than a catchy song a couple of months ago - that I still can't get out of my head,) and a great product - IF you have a great dealer, I'm not sure they have much to do with it.

Mr., whatshisname CEO has been taking credit for the great sales on every financial show on the cablevision; No, we hit $4/a gallon - your smile had nothing to do with it....

I love the guy in the video at the end. He is going to go from $100 in his tank when he fills up to like $20? Wait until he finds out they are not 4g gas tanks and he will only be spending $10-12.

weird - not a thing in our local papers about scooter sales in Boston, Calif, NY or the like.
