Modern Vespa

ET2 50cc 2002 model; fails to start even if run day before. Plenty of battery, but no spark at plug, or a very weak one, once.

Stopgap solution: direct the output of a hair dryer at HT Coil/to be clear, this is the black box with an output cable attached to the top of the spark plug. Without fail, 5 minutes of hair dryer allows unit to start without hesitation.

I have that exact vespa with that exact problem how did you fix it?

The Vespa lives in an unheated wooden shack; it is now covered with a tarp of some kind to keep the moisture off. but the hair dryer is still handy, and often used. No joy yet!

Far less hassle to just replace the coil. One day that dry joint inside is going to fail a bit more, and then you'll be stuck big time. Get one off a scrapper.
