Registered and ready to roll


We'll except for packing and actually planning the route. I've got some work to do.

There are some of us from Central VA doing the "fly by the seat of your pants route". We have a start time, an arrival day, and a general idea of the way to go . Thats our plan.

You are riding in from VA? Are you going to trailer the bikes or ride them? Pretty cool.

That's exciting! I should have my vespa by then, but I wouldn't be ready for it yet, skills-wise. Maybe next year, though.

I'm riding in from Pittsburgh to Deals Gap, My hasty plan so far is to camp at Fontana so I can do the Dragon Run with the Amerivespa group the next day, and then follow them to Chattanooga. (Heck, if I get there early enough and I'm caffeined-up enough, I'll probably run the Dragon myself on the way in )

Last year I said I wasn't going to trailer, and I did. This year, barring any unforeseen schedule changes, I'm panning on riding. I'm still working on a route...so far I just Googled up an "avoid interstates" route to the Dragon, but I haven't checked it out or tweaked it yet.

I'll be there, riding up from Atlanta on Monday and working the early part of the week.. See ya at the Choo Choo!

We're leaving bright and early on the 22nd (Tuesday) from Middletown VA. Our route will be Skyline Drive, down the parkway with a stop in/near Blowing Rock or Banner Elk NC. Wednesday we continue to meet up with the gang to ride Deal's Gap. Maybe we'll see ya on the road!

Hey Linda, I sure hope you mean leaving Virginia on Wednesday morning the 23rd? I gotta do some re-planning if not.

It would be nice connecting with a few scooterists from Boston on the way down.

Of course you're right! I was looking at my itinerary. Tuesday we're staying in Middletown. My bad.

Jim, can you be in Middletown VA on Tuesday, the 22nd? We're leaving from there really early Wednesday morning.

Shame ... i don't think i'm going to make it ... i've got a lambretta to build and 3 weeks to do it. If i get it done ahead of time, maybe i'll reward myself and show up unannounced.

Anyways, would have been nice to have met you there.

i'm embarrassingly trucking my scoot up from birmingham. my little sprint isn't running just right and won't hang well enough with the bigger scoots so i'm going to be the chase truck. the good news is that i'm bringing back coolers full of illegal beer though.

I'll be there Thursday. Can't wait!
