I need help getting the plastic cover off around the switches and headlight(?) so as to realign the fork. I can't get the search engine to give me what I'm looking for and tried a few different things (argh). What I need is to know how that thing comes off since breaking it is not an option. I've got a poor habit of over pressuring things and breaking them permanently. Don't want to face that again.

Guidance would be greatly appreciated. Plastic tabs befuddle me lol. mrmm screws not so much.

You may not have to take it apart. Try just standing in front of the scooter facing the headlight, holding the front wheel between your legs and twisting hard on the handle bars. You may be able to just work it back to the straight position without taking it apart. I know it sounds strange but it can be done sometimes, just like a bicycle.

Thanks Micheal. I've done that in the past but with an eleven inch tire I want that thing to be tight when I align it. No surprises on bad roads is really what I'm hoping to avoid.

Movement on the handle bars is a normal SAFETY feature! Please for the love of jebus, do not tighten this so that the is no allowance for movement in an emergency. The reason the handle bars are designed with some play is that in an acciddent, this safety feature is what is going to prevent that handle bar from impaling you.

It should be possible to 'realign' by banging on the steering end-stops. Just, mark you, so you won't have problems in normal riding. If the bars are too tight on the steering column then a potential thief can break the steering lock, a major pain.

Thanks guys. Yeah I've just been tweeking the bars as you both said. If I understood you correctly. I sat on the bike and very gently pushed the appropiate bar on each corner of the garage to realign then test rode her up the block. That's what you guys were saying is the better way, yes?

Hope so because she's damn close now lol.

If that's what you both meant then its working. If not please correct me so I get this right.

Many many thanks,
Harv

Actually, any way you can immobilize the wheel and turn the handlebars should work. Just do it by "eyeballing" it and it should be fine!
