Got hit by a car on the VNB tonight. Was wearing all my gear but will be fine despite the large dent in the idiots hood and an ugly scrape on my helmet. The VNB is toast I coulda ended up a lot worse.

it is still a good idea to watch your body for the next couple days and go see a real doctor if something is wrong.
Sad and scary stories but adrline will mask some injuries. |

crap Bobo! I am so sorry to hear that. And even if you are feeling ok at the moment, it wouldn't hurt to go see your doc. I had a closed head injury from a car wreck back in 1994 and it took me quite a long time to really recover, even though I didn't have a scratch on me. Those things are sneaky.

BOBO glad to hear you came out the back ok. Sucks on the scooter It's been scary out there lately. I think this whole gas price thing has everyone so pissed off they are paying less attention than normal and that ain't saying much. Motrin is your friend. Did he stop? Have his insurance get you a new scooter.

Crap Buddy I'm so glad you're not seriously injured. Maybe you'll feel the pain tomorrow. Rest up and take it easy for a couple of days. Love ya man!

Yeah I did go to the e.r. But I couldn't coax any good drugs out of them I think that's a good sign.

Awful to learn about the accident, but glad that you weren't hurt too bad. The damaged scooter sucks, but it is only a machine. Take it easy while you get back on your feet.

You probably aren't thinking about this, but there will be legal implications.
I would ask to have this thread deleted right away. Best of luck to you fellow scooter rider. |

Sorry to hear it happened and glad you walked away to tell about it.
How did it happen? Is there something in it to learn for us? Please share when you feel ready. Oh, and no post-crash symptoms for you! |

Thanks for the love, y'all! I'm home from the ER.
I can't think of any lessons to be learned about the ride itself. The other guy simply accelerated from the stop sign at a T intersection and plowed into me as I turned left. I think he actually stopped and then pulled out. There is little one can do to defend against that. I wore good gear. This is the second time I have crashed with a Corazzo jacket (this time the shop jacket) and Draggin jeans, and the gear has done its job. The Nolan helmet hit the ground and will have to be replaced. The Brazimoto deerskin gloves are fine. If I had been in shorts and sandals I would definitely not be able to take some ibuprofen in the morning and go to work tomorrow. The perp is with GEICO as am I. I hope they will be fair. When I totalled a GTS on gravel a couple years ago they were slow but fair. In an eerie continuation of my occasional premonitions, before the ride I put my AAA card in my pocket. I don't usually carry it for a short ride. I was thinking breakdown, though, not crash. |

Thank God it wasn't worse....glad to hear you are more or less OK (under the circumstances)...though I have to admit it's a bit disconcerting...if this can happen to you (with all of the miles you have logged) it can happen to anyone....
