I'm so sorry to hear about the accident! Do take it easy for a few days...we all want everything to be fine after an accident but often the aches and pains come the next day.
Hope the insurance settlment is fair. Don't forget to include any accessories that were wrecked/lost in the claim. |

What they said +1. Take it slow for a couple of days, and start thinking about your new scooter!

Well Bobo, I guess this takes care of that "one too many scooters in the garage issue you had".
I am both sorry to hear this and glad you were able to post about it. Valerie |

The VNB is toast I coulda ended up a lot worse. Man, I am so sorry to hear about that. The first one is always a nightmare and getting on your scooter is a hard thing to do. Having been there once before, I can promise you it will all work out in the wash. When (and not 'if') the insurance company screws you (because they will - been in this business for a long, long time), please PM me. Although I live a few time zones away, I know the greatest lawyers in WDC/B'more and he's handled over 12,000 auto/scooter/m'cycle cases. He'll get you back up and running. I sometimes feel when I'm on my scooter that it's like the dude from that movie "Grizzly Man." You know he's gonna get it, the only question is - when.... Heal well and gimme a line when you're up and running. |

Glad you're generally OK, I think there are a bunch of Bastards expecting you this weekend.
This goes to show that even an experienced rider, with a bazillion miles on scooters, isn't immune to an incident What would be potentially helpful should you feel up to it Bobo, and there might be some expertise involved, is suggesting a procedural guide of what should or should not be done in an accident - to protect the scooterists rights- like 'document these 37 things,' 'don't say ________,' 'don't sign_____', bike valuation suggestions, etc.? |

Out of curiosity, what did the guy say after he hit you? The guy's girlfriend was with him. I think she learned something about him. He was more concerned about his dented car hood than the guy he hit. Getting up and walking away, I was just feeling lucky. I don't know what legal advice to give to people who crash, other than be compassionate but don't make a statement like "I'm sorry." Save the statements for the insurance company after things settle down and you talk to a lawyer. Fortunately this time the evidence is clear: he had a stop sign, I didn't, and there are skid marks in the middle of the intersection. |

I'll see you in a few days at the Bastard Rally where I'll give you some healing kisses where you have boo-boo's. BUT .. you have to keep your hands to yourself! ![]() Gitta |

Cmon...the guy was just in a crash!
His hands are sore and probably need him to exercise them as "therapy". So..cut him some slack this time! But if you meant him to "keep his hands off" Lenore, I can understand that... Great pic!! |

I was sad to hear this Bobo. Glad you came out of this without any broken bones or worse (we know you wouldn't want anything to interfere with a good time at Amerivespa). I'm sad to hear that the sweet little "saddleshoe" is toast. Stupid cager.

Get healed up quick. Maryland drivers are the worst (I live in Baltimore). If you inconvenience them, they are after your head.
Pat yourself on the back for being smart enough to wear protective gear. I saw a guy on a big bore motorcycle the other day in shorts, a tee shirt and tennis shoes and just shuddered. |

Did I interpret the other thread right?
You are still making plans for Amerivespa... Great.. I am so glad you are still riding... My wife had a fender bender 18 months ago in her truck and she is still skittish... Reading about your mishap scares me now, I just started riding this thing on the 495 beltway... All I can do is keep my eyes open.. Ride Safe. |

You're right, it doesn't do any good to be upset. The winds of time and the cogs of Justice will even things out in their own way. A VNB can be replaced, even these days. But nerve damage may be forever. Luckily it seems you are scratch free.
