I have the medium size on order for my GT. Now mind you this is my main form of transportation. I'm starting to wonder why I orderd this. I am mostley interested now in cutting through the wind at higher speeds. once i hit 55 to 60 mph i get tons of drag. What is best for this? I tested the fly screne today but i wasnt any place i could get to these speeds (without a ticket) It was hard to tell how much diffrence it made at 40mph. Also part of my logic on the medium was in the cooler months this will help keep me warmer? would love some feed back.

My experience with windshields...For my GT, I have a small flyscreen, a mid and a tall windshield.
There will be times, especially at high speeds, where the tall windshields will darn right slow you down. They do however make it possible to ride around town in the colder months. You will get spoiled driving around with the tall because it is so much more pleasant. Your eyes are not crying, you're not getting hit in the face with rocks and bugs, and it's overall more quiet. The mid I hardly use because where it was cut down is right in my line of sight so to see clearly with it I either need to tuck my head under an each or stretch it up and over an inch. The small flyscreen is a dream as it usually boosts your speed due to its increase in cutting drag. It does none of the things the tall windshield does for driver comfort. It is more like a wind deflector than a windshield. Other than that, in order to save your expansion nuts, a little tighter than hand tight, not HULK tightened. Carry a small 17mm wrench in your tool pouch just in case. |

+1 for scoot above , good advice
I have a mid size screen on my GTS and it is great, I still get bugs and things flying above it but it gives me 5 extra MPH on the highway. |

I use a mid height screen full time. Like the full height versions they do cut down on drag and also keep you much warmer. But the mid is less likely to get yanked around. In warmer weather though it is hard sometimes to get a good breeze.

Thanks Scoot for your post.
I to will be getting a windshield for my GT.
My focus will be cooler months and comfort. My highspeed rides are short enough and rare enough that it sounds like the Tall shield is what I want, although I do want to check the height "concern" of the mid size. |

I have the small fly. It helps get wind off the chest, but I've noticed it hitting the helmet at times.
I like the look and functionality of it. Not sure if there really is any increased gas mileage or anything like that. Like I said, I like the look and function of it. |

Windscreens
I have two for my GTS. I have the mid-size Faco for cooler months, and then I change out to the shorter Vespa brand flyscreen during the summer months.
The shorter lets me enjoy the breeze in the summer, and the mid size cuts 90% of the cold air off my chest when I'm riding in winter. They're so easy to swap out, almost makes sense to have a selection for different riding conditions. |
