I lived there in the early 70s. I remember slippahs. How about, "all pow"? I remember "hunna buttah" was a term for snot. I also remember "kill howlie day" not to fondly. Most folks under 50 don't use those words much anymore for the obvious reasons.

NOLA JOHN haole surprisingly isn't as derogatory of a term as it once was. There are more haoles in areas where there were none even 10 yrs ago. Demographics out where i live has changed that much. Used to be very few of us haoles in certain areas now waianae is the last area where it's mostly native. Another good word is CHRONIC I also totally love that word.

ah, the profanisaurus .... viz makes me howl in general but the profanisaurus has been known to get me simultaneously weeping with laughter and cringing at its utter disregard for any form of political correctness or social sensitivity (i.e. 'badly packed kebab').

Best expression is "You Berk!" to tell someone they are an idiot - but it is rhyming slang for an extremely crude word and not many people know it, even in England.

Our tradename for sticky tape is "Sellotape" but our Australian cousins use the name for Rubbers (US meaning).
