I just saw this on my local Craigslist...

I don't have a garage to put this baby in, but the asking price sure makes me think!

Seriously... If I lived within a day's drive of that scooter, I'd have it YESTERDAY.

$2k for a running GS is about as ridiculous a price as I've ever heard. That wouldn't last a *second* on Craigslist in the Bay Area.

Yeah ...good looking bike. someone put motorcross looking grips on it, but besides that it's a hot ride.

Inner city apartment I park my ET2 in my building's parking lot (with a nice big lock and cover against the elements of course).

So I wouldn't be able to get it into my living room so easy...

Crating + shipping would only be 300-400 forward air, i'd guess.

You could get ahold of EP or someone in the Boston Stranglers SC and i'm sure they would help you out.

Hey Guys, Is there any chance that this is a dressed up piece of juncque?

isn't there a buyer beware factor here?

should I look for welds or cracks or bondo or little yellow booties??

I have a little corner left in my Garage.

I don't think it's very "Dressed up" ... i think the seller is pretty upfront with the fact it's a little rough looking, as he advises you to take it somewhere to make it showroom.

he's disabled the battery assist spark ...which is nice. The battery assist setup was probably the worst electronic system ever put on a vespa. ( requires the battery to work in order for you to have spark ..so that you can actually start the bike )

It looks like it needs a little TLC, and is priced accordingly. That's how i see it. It's not a museum piece .. but it looks straight and like it would be fun to clean up.

Any certain VIN numbers to check for to make sure it is a 59 GS150?

Hmmm ..the frame VIN should begin with the letters VS4 or VS5. I'd wager it's a VS5, but i can't be certain.

The lower the number, the more they are worth ( from 1 to 5 )

Not surprising. Considering that I had the conversation with my wife the night this thread popped up about just PayPal'ing the guy $2k for the scoot, sight-unseen, and then storing it at my friend's place in Townsend, MA until I could go for a visit (she actually was quite open to the idea), I was SURE there were many, many, many more people like myself (lusting after this scooter), only much geographically closer, that I didn't stand a chance.

I know I was banging my head about how to get my hands on this bike, and I could have to be honest, they asked me when I could come see it, but I couldn't come up with a decent place to store it for myself. This bike didn't deserve to be chained outside, even lovingly covered Crying or Very sad emoticon Boy I would have liked it
