Alright, I know this has nothing to do with Vespa's but I was so happy I wanted to tell the world. I have been playing now for a little over a year and normally score between a 100 and a 105 and once recently shot a 98. This was a huge jump for me to hit an 89 for a newer golfer. Are there others here that play?

I golf. I'm delighted to discover I can strap my carry bag on my back and scooter to the golf course without a problem. I was worried about that since there are NEVER any scooters in the parking lot at the golf course.
I'm a Vespa recidivist. Had my first one back in the 60s, and owned motorcycles before and after. Just got the GT 200. Used to ride to the course with my bag 30 years ago on a Yamaha 650, but wasn't sure how that was going to work out. My GT 200 is more versatile than the 650 -- if not as fast -- and golf bags have gotten a lot better. Having two straps makes them much more stable when you're sitting on a bike. I know what you mean about shooting a low score. I mucked around trying to break 100 regularly for decades. A couple of years ago I buckled down and started playing three or four rounds a week and got my scores into the 80s. Last summer, I went to the mainland on vacation and broke 80 a couple of times. It's not the equipment, either, since I'm playing with clubs that date from the 1980s -- well, except for my driver. My plan is to retire in September, do some consulting work on my own schedule and ride my GT to the golf course for a friendly round three or four days a week. |

Good job breaking 90! Keep it up, and you'll start doing it regularly. I love golf. I play or practice at least a few times a week. Handicap currently is at 16.2, i.e. I average about 85-95.

Nice one matey, the first time I broke 90 was a great feeling as if a major hurdle in your golfing life had been overcome, especially ahving been so close quite a few times. Now you need to kick on and get your first 79 then 69 then tell Tiger where to stick his clubs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Golf ... the sport you drop at the thrill of that first scooter ride
Congratulations ... just jealous I never broke 100! My left-handed clubs have been gathering dust for 6 years now. |

Great job! I grew up with parents that were both outstanding golfers and then raise a son that has a 3 handicap. Mine's 36! Life is so unfair!
