I read the threads I could find on servicing the GTS CVT but need a little advice/clarification. My GTS has ~6,500 miles now and is "rattling", so I suppose it needs new rollers.

ROLLERS: Do I understand correctly that the rollers come in different weights? Are rollers and variator weights the same thing?
What is the weight of the stock rollers?
What is gained from heavier or lighter rollers?
Is 20x17 the correct size for the stock variator?

BELT: Is it general consensus that the Malossi Kevlar belt is the best replacement for the money?

And are the correct change intervals:
10K km (6K mi) for the rollers?
15K km (9.5K mi) for the belt?

Last, any idea when Jettin will release the GTS variator tool?

Mine was rattling a month ago.. 9,000km. The belt was replaced, but they said the variator halves, rollers and clutch all looked fine.

Interesting.
Did they put an OEM belt in, or a kevlar?

I forget at what mileage my belt shredded, but I think they recommend 8000 or 10000 miles.

If you're going to replace the belt, you might as well do the rollers as well while you are in there.

They are not very expensive.

I replaced the stock belt with the Kevlar belt, and I get a little slippage and slight hum with the slippage.

The Kevlar belt is less expensive, and probably why more popular.

I think I will go with the stock belt, next time.

I still have the original belt and rollers even after my 9000 km service.

Just the regular OEM. I think I caught a report or two here of the Kevlar belt failing, or at least lasting just as long as the OEM. If you're going to upgrade your variator/rollers to something more high-performace and want to go the Kevlar route... fine... but I've got no issues with the stock pieces.

Here are the destruction: GT200 CVT belt and rollers replacement.

Actually these are for the GT, I'll see if I can find the GTS destructions.

Here they are: Variator & Belt change - Pictures from MV workshop

Thanks Salty!
I had seen those GTS instructions but not the GT ones you posted. Excellent work!
I'm still after answers to the questions in my original post too.
It sounds like stock belt and rollers are the way to go?

Jettin?
I haven't been able to reach Jettin via email nor phone.
Does anyone know when they will release their new variator-holding tool for the GTS?
Website says "very soon", but I'm in need of a good tool now....
