A 1977 4-door Toyota Corolla sedan. White, 5-speed. Not much of a chick magnet, but it was still running strong when I finally sold it with over 268,000 miles on it. Woo Hoo!

Riding around in a baby stroller and a car seat, probably.

Mine was black with flames and flared fenders but same idea: front wheel burnouts in the rain were cool. Although the back seat was limiting.

A 1982 Honda XR80 and a 5 hp generic minibike.
That Honda was my 1982 Christmas present and I rode the wheels off it.
Sold it in 2005 for $350.

Something like Whitesox fan, only in sparkling blue with spiderman-esqe trim, BMX pegs and spokey-dokeys. I miss that bike.

I had a few cars that year:

68 Chevy Impala sold to buy

63.5 Ford Galaxie 500 (with factory T Bird steering wheel) sold to buy

67 VW Bus (which lost an oil line and blew the engine) sold for 500 dollars.

Doh!

25 years ago, I had just sold one of these...it was time for a CAR. Sold by Sears, built by Gilera. Gee I loved that bike.

The rattiest Primavera you've ever seen in your life. Part of it was blue, part of it was red, part of it was primer and there were lots of scrapes.

I was leasing the worst car I ever drove back in 1983, a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme DIESEL. Out of warranty repairs on it cost almost as much as the lease itself.

In 1983... I had a '76 Buick Regal with a 350 engine that just would not die! Eventually she rusted out to the point that the passenger had to hold on the me to keep from getting blown out of the car where the wind came in.

It was nothing showy but I'd give my right nut for that car right now (I'm not exactly using them much now anyway.... not since the surgery )

25 years ago my dad prob just brought home his 1983 Honda Aero 80. I was wrecking any bike I could get my hands on.

Yamaha 650 - the 4 cyl one Rock solid, trouble free. Sold it in 88 to get a Sportster. What was I thinking?

Suzuki GS 750E (not an interesting bike). Sold it 2 years later to buy a Ducati 750 Paso.

And a Bianchi bicycle; I've always had a thing for Italian bicycles - now I ride a Guerciotti - now that I also ride a Vespa, I guess I must have some "inner rule" about two-wheeled vehicles!

I turned 16 in August 1983 and got my first powered two-wheeler. A Yamaha RD50M. Kept it for a year and then bought my first scooter. The RD was black with the gold 'mag' wheels like the one below, but my sister's then boyfriend from whom I bought had painted the frame red. Nice little bike, to say it was restricted.
