Not meaning to sound like an advertisement but I would just like to plug Thousand Oaks, CA. Vespa for such outstanding performance.
We purchased two 250GTSie scoots from them 3 weeks ago.
The purchase portion of the sale was delightful. Dave & Lynda are truly two honest and thoughtful people to deal with. We shopped most of So.Calif. and we are sooooo happy we found them in the end.
THE SERVICE
We took the scoots in for the 625 mile service which consisted of changing the Engine Oil & Oil Filter. Cleaning the Air Filter. Changing the Hub Oil. Checking Fluid Levels, Tires & Brakes and Tightening Things in general. In other words a thorough inspection of the entire bike.
Their technicians really looked around and treated these bikes as if they were going to ride them themselves. (In fact they did test ride )
Both bikes were in & out in under 3 hours so I was able to complete the entire proceedure in the morning and be home for lunch.
The technicians there are dedicated to their work and customer satisfaction.
Thank you Spencer for noticing and aligning my steering!
We can HIGHLY recommend this dealership through our experiences with them. Thank You All.

Oh.... did I mention that they delivered the bikes to our doorstep after the purchase?
Guess I forgot.
They delivered the scoots to our doorstep after the purchase and we live 60 miles from their dealership.
We were riding our new scooters within a few hours of the purchase.
SWEEEEET.....................

Thanks Napa. I am aware of mymodernvespa. Not necessarily looking for any response. Just wanted to throw it out there for the So.Calif. people on this site.

True that Napa, when we get a chance we are going to change that name as a courtesy to Jess or just welcome everyone there (small crowd of 100 or so) to join onto MV and then just shut her down.

Yo Acton............!!

Glad you are thrilled with our shop however that is just us doing our job (I was off today, glad all went well) however always remember there are many many customer oriented small companies left in America, VTO has no exclusive on good customer service.

Thanks for the props, however more importantly just go out and enjoy the ride.

This was definatly not a spam entry. I think I know David at VTO well enought to say he would not let that happen.

This was a sincere appreciation for a well regarded dealership.

Welcome Sadie. You mentioned that you bought 2 scooters. Was it for his and hers and are you going to ride them locally or trailer them out to National parks or something? Have fun, be safe and buy the proper safety gear.

Even if it wasn't spam, I thought from postings in other threads here that dealer griping/bashing wasn't allowed...so along that same line, I would think that dealer praising also wouldn't be allowed.

Even though I would always like to find out about who's a good dealer versus a bad one... if the rules of the forum discourage or disallow negative comments about businesses or dealers.. then only allowing positive comments will actually give an incorrectly slanted impression of that business or dealer. That won't really help any of the members to be better and more correctly informed.

So I'm thrilled that you had a great scooter buying and startup experience. And I wish you many years of fun and safe rides!

But maybe it's better to not do either kind of business or dealer postings in the general discussion parts of the forum. Just let PM's to other members be the word of mouth means by which we let our fellow MV'ers know of a good thing, or bad thing, when we run across it.

I would love to hear the moderators chime in with some guidance on this.

Hey Portland,

Check out the thread on the guy moving from Atlanta to Portland on 8/1, I gave him a few hot spots from back in the day, I am sure you can add to it.

You know, pretty soon we won't be able to talk about anything if we start going down that path.

We're all adults here, we can discern when we're interested in something or not. There is no good reason for prohibiting someone from saying when a vendor provides excellent service.

I think the Mods are doing a good job of keeping things friendly, so let's leave well enough alone.

TO took some heat in the Scooter vs. Motorcycle post.

I have to say that I'm happy to have Vespa Oceanside so close to me. I used to have to go to Riverside for service, and when the O'side store opened up, it was almost like having a shop next door.

The techs have done good work for me so far too.

I don't miss the 1-1/2 hour drives and being stuck on the 91 on my way to get service!

Yeah I too was following that intently all day as it evolved..

But you've probably also noticed that it's under review.. and if it gets chopped from the forum for that "heat", then we all won't have that balance anymore.

But from your PICS, TO looks like a great store. I would love to have that kind of assortment of scoots and bikes all in one place up here!

While trying to decide on my scoot vs. MC, Aprilias and Guzzis were top on my list. Still are in fact!

Hello all,

Id have to say its nice to hear storries like this. I have been in the market for a bit and have been to TO Vespa and everyone seemed very friendly and willing to answer questions. I have also been in conatct with Santa Barbara Vespa since its my other closest dealor and everyone there was great as well. I have yet to go to the SB store, but the guy there (Bob I think) has answered many questions online for me and I hope to visit the store soon. should I chose to buy new it will be form one of these stores. However used is a bit more in my price range.

Take care,

Marc

Glide2Saftey
Thom,
i think it's time i let the cat out of the bag ................
it has come to my attention that my mandals are very dangerous
so i have designed open air footwear that will glide the rider to safety in case of an accident

Here is the only snag
i had a shit load of them made in black
but dealers are reporting that only customers with black scooters are buying them
IF i want them to be a big seller i will need to make them en every color Piaggio/Vespa offers

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

Side note .........since they have wheels i DID have to get them DOT certified to try & win over gritty 2-strokers i had a bottle opener molded into the base of each Glide2Saftey
