I just bought a 1976 Vespa, fully rebuilt from a guy out in California. He claimed that he had done the work himself in California with original parts, unfurtunately he has turned out to be the worst Ebayer in the world and will not return any of my calls or e-mails (or course he has my money). I want to do some investigating as to the type of bike this is. Can someone tell me where I can locate the VIN number and the engine Number on this thing?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Second or third best scooter site on the intewebs:

http://ww.scooterhelp.com/serial/vespa.serial.locator.html

I can't imagine anyone would use eBay to sell a fully restored scooter from California, if it really wasn't restored there.

Thank you Rith,

I looked and there doesn't seem to be one there. I thnk I may have just bought a rebuilt Indian Vespa. Time to file a complaint with eBay.
