The last word I heard today from the sales manager at the dealership was that they are going to "Try" to get me a new bike....but they need to find one first.
This made me feel a little better.

I'm not soured on Vespa, just a bad experience. As long as it's made right, we'll be buying another real soon. (The wife wants one too)

Philly, you should insist that he put that in writing. If he is sincere, he should have no problem with giving you a written statement that they are going to replace the scooter as soon as they can locate another new one.

RE: is my Vespa a Lemon?
There must be a consumer advocate or arbitration program or office in your state that will help you with this. I think I would start by phoning or writing your DMV Lemon Law office, perhaps your congressman - they usually have a local office, just brainstorm and start making calls and taking notes. Someone will know where you should begin.

A quick Google and I found that there is a PA Lemon Law for Wheelchairs http://www.wheelchairnet.org/wcn_prodserv/Funding/warranty.html
So there must be an office to help with other motorized vehicles.

The new Vespa sounds fair. Does the dealer have any idea how much press they are getting on this forum?

So what are your opinions fellow Vespites?
I believe that the scooter is "popping fuses" because of either

A) The dealer has exposed a wire somewhere in a previous repair

or

B) The zipties (at least one of them) are too tight around the belly of the scooter under the bucket and need to be cut, wires wiggled tested and loosened up a bit and re zip tied. This is experience speaking.

Good luck, hang in there.
