Finally, a solution I can live with. No drilling. No extra power tap. Just Garmin's OEM bean-bag mount sitting right up there where I need it and the power cord running under the seat. It doesn't move no matter how much throw my "3" over, and the whole thing moves to the pet carrier when I'm slugging down joe at the local caffeine shop. The real trick is to gently bend the plate sewn into the mount so that it creates a lip to hang on to the cowling. It's made of aluminum, so no problem there.

My Nuvi 750 is certainly not waterproof, but what can I do...the wife thought it made a great Christmas gift. It also works with the StreetPilot I Series, C530, C550 and C580 GPS Navigators

What is the doohickie around your left mirror stalk? Is it a cup-holder?

Now THAT is a very clever install option! When I got my Garmin Zumo I was looking at the bean bag mounts and figured it wasn't an option. But it makes a clean install and what you said ... just toss it in underseat storage.

I haven't installed mine yet so now I may just dash on over to the local store and get that beanbag and give it a shot. I don't recall what the underside of the beanbag mount is made of ... I'm wondering if adding some velcro to secure it better would be feasible. For what I paid for the Zumo, I'd be more inclined to make sure it stayed right were I put it.

Yep, cup holder.

No! Don't put Velcro on the underside of the mount. The bottom of the bean-bag is made of a substance akin to human flesh...I tried Velcro in the initial fitting stage, and when I tried to remove it, it removed a layer of "flesh" from the poor mount. No biggie, but it's truly is not needed. That nugget of electronic "gold" will remain just where you put it.

Thanks for the heads-up on the velcro. I'm going to give that beanbag a shot ... but I'm also going to use a bungee on my Zumo ... just in case
