Although I don't get my GTS until Friday, I somehow get the feeling that battery charging will be a constant problem.

Can I charge the battery without removing it from the bike

Hi RodK, this can be done easily without removing from the scooter. I would pick up a battery tender and fit the fixed battery connection cord to the battery and weave it through to the footrest of your GTS for easy connection to the tender when needed. I haven't charged yet but did weave the cord to my foot rest for when I need too.

if your battery is under your seat - ignore my previous post. My battery is in the floor on my GTV.

I installed a cigarette lighter plug in my left knee panel. I tapped into the alarm connector to get to 12V. All I have to do to connect the battery tender is to plug its output into the lighter plug. Couldn't be cleaner or easier.
I also wired a piezo buzzer into the turn signals, also available at the alarm connector.
BTW, I've never had a problem with the battery not holding a charge. I keep it on the tender as a precaution.

Gee, whatever gave you that idea? Could it be all the battery tender posts? I never have mine on a tender and it always starts up. I have a tender (bought because I had the same worry as you), but I don't use it.

I've owned my ET4 for over 2 years and never used a
battery tender. I also put 10,000 miles a year on her.
If you ride you shouldn't need the tender.

Take the battery out if you're going to close up shop for the winter and you'll probably find it'll stay good on you. Probably NOT as good as it would with a tender, but I don't own one, haven't used one, and haven't had a problem in so doing
