Modern Vespa

I've been checking out the electrical diagram for my GTS 250 as I plan several future modifications. I see the connector for the add on alarm which is labeled "Anti-Theft Alarm Pre-Wiring" which I will soon need for installing the alarm. No mystery there but I ran across another connector labeled "Helmet Comp Switch Pre-Wiring." It's a two pin connector with one side going to +12V and the other side connected to the alarm connector.

Does anyone have any information on this? Is a switch added to the helmet compartment when the factory alarm is installed so the alarm will go off if a thief breaks the seat latch? It looks like this could be extended to the top case to provide protection for it as well.

That is correct. I have the stock alarm installed on my GTV and the alarm goes off if a thief tries to break into the "pet-warmer". It will also go off if you don't turn the alarm off and open the seat the regular way, i.e with the key in off position and then press the latch button.
