I'm still to find out if it's legal here in NZ - but i have.........
Changed both headlights to Narva brand "Plus 50" H1 bulbs - 50% more light than standard halogen, but still 55w each.
Changed the side lights to 1w Blue LEDs in the same T10 shape as the standard ones, and....
Added a Blue LED Strip to the radiator grille area. This can be switched off by a waterproof switch on the dash.
Result.........
One happy scoota that attracts even more attention. Wha? emoticon
I suppose I'll find out if the blue lights are legal at the side of the road, with the 'man', on a wet, cold, windswept day!

If you laws are anything like ours then as long as the lights aren't flashing or red then you are fine.

Looks cool. I believe in California you can't use blue LEDs.

True... but what an opportunity to sneak it on and say it is standard

Amber Front Running Lights
I put 2 bicycle lights (cheep Bell 5 LED for $20 each at KMart) on the poles to my windscreen on my MP3 (factory style windscreen). While the poles were too skinny, I used a tie wrap on each to get a secure fit. Then I placed them below the bend in the windscreen supports facing down so they lit up the lower part of my windscreen.

To be safe, I put amber lens repair tape over them so they should qualify for just running lights and will be legal. Now the bicycle lights can flash rapidly which would help to keep me safe, but I don't know if a flashing amber strobe is legal in Indiana. If anyone knows Indiana law

BTW don't try white strobes without the amber tape. I tried it for 5 minutes and 2 cars pulled over because they thought I was a cop. I turned off the lights right away. Of course, it does not help that I wear a Chrome half helmet and in direct sunlight is very visible, but it looks white which is what motorcycle cops wear in Indianapolis.

Once a car pulled over without my strobes. All I did was flash my high/low beams because I saw a car did not see me and was about to pull out. This other lady in front of me pulled over and then cussed me out as I went by. (I was not about to stop). Has that happened to anyone else?

See video of lights:

Wow, resurrecting an OLD thread here...

I have modulated headlights and routinely get folks pulling over for me. Which is not my intention, but it is my intention to be conspicuous!
