Modern Vespa

Posting this in case others have had this frustrating problem.

Since installing Firefox 3.0, my office Windows machine has been bogging down due to excessive CPU spikes. This made viewing online worse than when I had dial-up! It appears that this is an issue for FF3, but there is a fix (for windows) given here

I just made that change based on this thread, although I'm only running 2.0.

I'm not sure if I can tell a difference.

I don't know if the cpu problem was there with FF2. I only noticed it after installing FF3 - and attributed the stalling to problems with my old Win2000 machine. It was only after the tech support people insisted that the computer was okay that I did more searching and discovered that this is more of a problem then I had imagined. Doesn't seem to be limited to Windows either, but I haven't yet installed FF3 on my linux box. Probably won't.
