A weekend of lovely rides and camping has given us rally fever so we've already started planning the next one! read on to find out more about the

MVUK Urban Camping Rally and Epping Forest Ride Out

Weekend of the 9th or the 16th August - whichever works best for the most people.

Location: Doug's back garden in Wanstead. Off-street parking for 10 scooters. Room for five (I think) two person tents. We can supply one two-person tent for someone to use. Could also put up a couple of people indoors (double bed)

Lovely patio with two barbeques. Gazebo available so we can still grill if it rains. There are loads of decent shops locally for food and booze. Plenty of pubs around for lunches and cafes (including Starbucks, yugh!) for breakky.

Rides will be somewhere around Essex, probably involving Sewardstone, Epping Forest, Chipping Ongar, perhaps out to Great Dunmow. Lovely little backroads and the good riding starts about 20 minutes away from Doug's place. Gets good from about South Woodford (E18) onwards.

Meet at Doug's around 2-3pm on a Saturday so that the Kent and Sussex guys have time to get over. Ride out on Saturday afternoon, bbq and party Saturday evening. Sunday - maybe a morning ride out for sunday lunch, maybe just lots of strong coffee and paracetomol.

sounds like a great plan but i'll be driving (in the car, not scooter) down to the dordogne on 5th august where i'll be camping with my wife and kids.

i'm not returning to london until the end of august so, if it really is an indian summer, i'll hopefully be able to get together with you all later in the year.

9th is OK for me, 16th is out (I'll be in France) and don't forget the 17th is the Unity Ride: http://unity2.unityride.co.uk/ which I'm really sorry to be missing as well. It's a must-do!

Just logged in to see I had just missed the weekends events.. please accept my appologies for failing to get to the Brighton meet.My laptop has been away for the past 2 weeks and i have not been online.
Definately up for the weekend of the 9th , like Jim I cannot make the 16th as i too am away.
I'm coming over from Hampshire.

How odd is it that we all seem to be busy on the 16th of August. Hey Jim I'm just North of you in Belgium on that day riding a Vespa of some sort to Ostende and Brugge.
I'm old enough to know that I don't like camping ( unless it's the John Inman type ) but I promise to stay as late as I can and before I change into a pumpkin.
I have to ask am I actually invited along ? I don't want to pressume.

It's nearly better right now, but still taking care with it. Loads of lubrication... I'll be in France then. Sad to miss one of JT's do's (they're serious fun!) but I'm sure the French food and drink will compensate.

I believe there is loads of camping space, but I'm not sure excatly where that is. JT says "back garden", but just what bit of ground he's referring to escapes me.

Just two questions 1 Where actually are we meeting up on the 9th ? something like an address would be very handy and 2
