My new GTS has about 250 miles on it. Any experience out there with engine break in per the owner's manual? I've been keeping it in town at 30-45 MPH with occassional sorties to 55-60 out on back roads, etc, and am contemplating a longer (150-200 mile round trip) at 60 MPH.

Lots of posts here on this. Use the search function and you'll get all the info you need.

The common consensus though is to just ride it like you stole it.

Yeah, I have to admit.. I haven't done sh*t for breaking it in as per proper directions.. I've been just driving the crap out of it at all speeds. Seems to be fine.

I'm planning on being a maintenance nazi and doing all my oilchanges as scheduled. I think it should be fine.

I'm still breaking mine in too. It says not to exceed 80% of the top speed. I've been good at not going above 50mph (mostly).

The Mechanic where I bought mind flat out said ride like you stole it.

I have always broke my new stuff in hard, never a problem. The other thing I do is ride in all different RPM ranges, definately dont be afraid to open it up, just dont hold it there.
